Weekend's Work

This weekend I did some experimenting with canvasses primed with black gesso in the final coat. The results were pretty good for my liking, but the camera unfortunately doesn't get along too well with the dark areas and the flash istorted the image pretty bad. Nonetheless you can see wht I was going for. The foreground rocks look so much better in real life it's too bad it didn't translate here.

I can't remember which I got done with first but below is the other and both really capture that morning anticipation when everything is still very quiet and still.

Free Acrylic Videos

Just wanted to say I do post videos pretty frequently of my work on youtube. The paintings are all real time, no super speed stuff, but there usually isn't sound. The real problem with sound is the size of files and it would make editing extremely hard. Plus who really wants to hear me talk and mumble? I'll answer any questions about brushes, colors, techniques and anything else if people leave a comment. I migh try to type up some explanations on this blog. Well, have a good one, I just finished up some stuff to post after I take pictures.
Over there are some windchimes in my back yard. I've got lots of seascapes to show but I want to show that there are other things too!

Some follow up images

Here are a few more pics! Enjoy

For starters

I've been painting for a couple years now and pretty frequently. I have a ton of old stuff and constant new ideas some of which i paint over so the only thing left of those is a picture or video. I think I'm going to try and post something new at least once a week and sometimes the videos of that but we'll see.

So far these are some paintings that I've enjoyed doing. Some are quite old and really not that good but I think it helps to show where it all started from and change and all that good stuff.

Clearly, I'm a huge fan of beach paintings and waves and the surf. It's got a lot to do with the whole living in California thing, but I also really love landscapes and there is plenty to paint for that too!
