New Oils

I mentioned the new oil paintings I had done, and yes finally snapped some pictures. One didn't quite seem finished and the other was not lit enough to be photographed and unfortunately the video I planned for it came out too poor to be useful. Anyways here are some hibiscus.

I also got in a slightly larger work in acrylic of the countryside with some sheep grazing lazily.

Breaking out the oils

This past week has been realy exciting since i finally cleaned up my old buckets of solvent and bought a new jar of Liquin for my oils. The only problem was they had been neglected so long the caps were pretty hard to get off since some oil cured in the threads. That aside, it was great to dip back into that medium and see I could still make it work. I got 2 paintings done in a pretty short time since they were so small, and will be posting a video demo in oils pretty soon. I'm still gathering my ideas for the subject but I'm leaning towards some sun rays in the woods and perhaps a floral and a seascape (my favorite).
